Hamilton Boys’ High had a goal to reduce all Year Levels of unjustified non-attendance to under 5%. Using School-links Early Notification this goal has been realised with the average Year Level now sitting at around 1.8%. “Just wanted to let you know how fantastic it was to send out a message to all our parents quite literally 5 minutes after the tornado struck Albany. As you can imagine phone lines were jammed as it all happened at 3.05, so we had children on buses etc.
Pandemonium reigned for a little while, but thanks to our quick thinking office staff and the wonderful ‘School-links’ we were able to get the message out.
Our school was fine but of course the parents didn’t know this and when you saw the clips on U-Tube and the devastation it was really reassuring to be able to alert some 400 families that their children and our school were safe”.
